Associate Director of Enrollment Analytics and Performance Strategy

The Partnership for Education Advancement (Ed Advancement) is a 501(c)(3) that supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through sustainable approaches that transform enrollment, institutional performance, and student success. Our collaborative efforts are aimed to advance socioeconomic mobility for historically under-resourced students and maintain and extend the impact of HBCUs as unique and critical drivers of racial equity and social justice. 

The Associate Director of Enrollment Analytics and Performance Strategy will join the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) team as a functional expert and resource on higher education enrollment, retention, and graduation data.


The Associate Director will directly support how Ed Advancement measures, forecasts, and tracks objectives and goals across partner HBCUs and progress toward key performance indicators. This work involves producing routine and ad hoc internal and external reports (including benchmarks related to the quality and efficacy of an institution and/or capacity-building initiatives) and offering recommendations for appropriate analysis and research strategies for the EMSS functional area and the greater Ed Advancement team.  To succeed in this role, you will have a data-driven mindset and a strong track record in higher education data management, analysis, and strategy.   • Support EMSS tracking and analysis by developing a set of standardized reports, interactive portals/dashboards, integrations, and data visualizations to monitor student enrollment, retention, and graduation trends and key performance indicators for our partner schools, network of HBCUs, and nationally; present data/findings and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of trends and progress towards goals 

  • Utilize data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in an institution’s enrollment and student success strategies; detect anomalies that could indicate the need for tactical change or strategic capacity-building initiatives; present findings and provide recommendations about the type of data necessary to make such improvements 

  • Work in collaboration with the Ed Advancement research team to write queries and extract large data sets from various systems, including, but not limited to, customer relationship management (CRM), the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and university data from partner HBCUs  

  • Analyze, model, project, and synthesize admission, enrollment, retention, and graduation data; Analyze both historical performance and forecasting outcomes 

  • Collaborate with other members of the Ed Advancement team to develop, implement, and monitor the standards for data collection, preparation, use, and retention; Maintain and enhance the analytic infrastructure for enrollment data analysis 

  • Serve as an internal consultant for and collaborate with HBCU partner institutions to develop standards, queries, and reports to monitor and/or forecast admissions, enrollment, and student success factors and key performance indicators; Engage with professional user groups, peer institutions, and other external organizations to identify data-driven trends in the enrollment profession 

  • Serve as a power user and problem-solve Slate (CRM) functional issues for the EMSS team 



  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Ability to build complex models and perform statistical analysis to deeply understand enrollment and student success data and both summarize those findings and translate them into meaningful presentations and reports with clear insights and actionable takeaways 

  • Excellent problem-solver with the ability to produce innovative solutions to complex issues  

Experience and Education

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex information, particularly in enrollment management, is desirable 

  • Experience developing reports using an analytical reporting tool 

  • Prior experience in admissions/recruitment, student success, or enrollment in a college or university setting 

  • Previous project management experience desired 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and five years of full-time related professional experience required 

  • Six or more years of professional experience working with complex data files preferred

Skills and Technical Knowledge: 

  • Highly skilled in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and data analysis, including adherence to compliances and ethical standards to ensure data is presented with confidence and integrity 

  • Intermediate or advanced level proficiency in standard desktop applications is highly desired, including producing documents and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Demonstrable experience with relational databases, data management, analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Slate CRM, Tableau highly desired) 

  • Ability and willingness to learn software technology, including project management software 

  • Ability to effectively work and contribute on a team with multiple constituents who may frequently engage via video conferencing and phone

  • Ed Advancement works nationally with offices in New York City and Washington D.C. This can be a remote-based position; must be able to work successfully in a remote yet active work environment. 

Working Conditions and Other Requirements: 

  • This is a full-time, exempt position. 

  • Position will involve confidential information and highly sensitive matters. Must handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion. Must securely manage all data and non-public information. 

  • Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required. 

  • Local and non-local travel (up to 25%) required.
